What is CrewAI?

CrewAI is a framework and platform for creating AI agents and coordinating their work. Its open-source Python framework gives developers two main building blocks: Crews organize agents with defined roles, goals, and tools; Flows control the steps, state, and events around that work. Use them together to build workflows that combine flexible agent decisions with explicit process logic. The commercial platform adds a visual editor and AI copilot for building workflows, alongside code-based development. Teams can connect agents to business tools, trace execution, test language models, and include human input. Enterprise plans add access controls and deployment options on CrewAI cloud, a customer VPC, or customer infrastructure. Start with the free platform to test a workflow, or install the Python framework and follow the official quickstart. Define a narrow task, choose your model, and connect only the tools it needs. CrewAI supplies the building and orchestration layer; you configure the agents, credentials, and workflow for your own use case.
